Research lab: Clark-Hill Institute for Positive Youth Development
Faculty adviser: Rosalie Corona, Ph.D.
I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boise State University in 2012 and joined the health psychology program at VCU the same year. My primary research interests focus on examining how cultural values and parental practices influence Latino adolescent and emerging adults’ sexual health. I am also interested in examining tobacco use behaviors and attitudes in African American and Latino families. I am the current undergraduate intern supervisor for the Corona Lab and part of the student advisory team for Drs. Rosalie Corona and Shelby McDonald’s community engagement project. Furthermore, I am currently the study coordinator for Drs. Corona and Joshua Langberg’s Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth grant.
