I earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Virginia Tech in 2016 and joined the developmental psychology doctoral program at VCU in 2017. I am interested in parenting and children’s emotional development, particularly in African American families, and the role race, culture and gender may play in the process of emotion socialization. I also have interests in masculinity development and emotion expression in Black boys.
