I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Mary Washington in 2013 and my master's degree in social work with a concentration in clinical social work from VCU in 2015. Before returning to school, I worked as a clinician at an inpatient psychiatric hospital and as a research analyst in the field of juvenile justice. I joined the developmental psychology doctoral program at VCU in 2017. My research interests broadly include risk and resiliency in adolescents and young adults. Specifically, I am interested in the relationship between exposure to trauma and future risk-taking behaviors, substance use and mental health outcomes.
