Research Interests
Dr. Caroline Cobb's program of research generally addresses the role of novel and alternative tobacco products (e.g., hookah/waterpipe tobacco, little cigars/cigarillos, and electronic cigarettes) in the incidence of tobacco-related disease and death as well as the broader implications of the availability of these products for policy and public health. Cobb's approach includes use of clinical lab and trial methodology, population-based surveys, qualitative inquiry, and other tools from tobacco regulatory science. Their current work is particularly focused informing policies related to tobacco product flavors particularly among populations who may be disproportionately affected by changes in availability such as Black/African American smokers.
